A Beach Hut Wedding

Thank you Alvin and Janice for making Beach Hut part of your joy.

Bravo to Jason Magbanua and mimi+karl for doing an AMAZING job. All the effort and time put into work truly becomes worth it when I see products becoming part of people's lives.

Practice What You Preach

I surprised myself earlier when I realized that the brands that I carry are a lot closer to me than I thought. I always told my team that wouldn't it be great if the hotdogs that you buy in the grocery is led by people who are OBSESSED with hotdogs? The kind of person(s) who can eat hotdog morning, noon and night?

I think I'm that kind of person, thou not necessarily on the hotdogs. It pays to be OBSESSED. I wouldn't live any other way. So here's how the day went...

I am wearing clothes today that I am sure was washed with CYCLES. I had a slightly runny nose this morning so I took two sachets of URGENCEE, drove myself to Ortigas where I had my breakfast meeting and used HALO on my coffee. Runny nose gone, I go through my day and had LOVE MINTS after lunch.

That's FOUR brands! And maybe BLISS tonight?

When was the last time you took/used the brand you market? Wouldn't it be Great if OBSESSED people run your brands?

"WE STAND SIDEWAYS. WE SLEEP ON FLOORS IN CRAMPED RESORT HOTEL ROOMS. WE GET UP EARLY AND GO TO SLEEP LATE. WE'VE BEEN MOCKED. WE'VE BEEN TURNED AWAY FROM RESORTS THAT WON'T HAVE US. WE ARE RELENTLESS. WE DREAM IT, WE MAKE IT, WE BREAK IT, WE FIX IT. WE CREATE. WE DESTROY. WE WRECK OURSELVES DAY IN AND DAY OUT AND YET WE STOMP THAT ONE TRICK OR FIND THAT ONE LINE THAT KEEPS US COMING BACK. WE PROGRESS."

How To Get Rich

THE WORLD IS FULL OF MONEY. SOME OF IT HAS MY NAME ON IT. ALL I HAVE TO DO IS COLLECT IT.

Felix Dennis, one of the richest people in Britain - the ultimate owner of Maxim Magazine (see blog entry prior to this) talks about how to become rich in the most straight-forward, gutsy method I've ever seen.

An entrepreneur and poet (sometimes a reluctant philosopher) in one, he casts away the bullshit surrounding getting rich.

How to Get Rich is one of the best books I've ever come across. And anyone who reads it has a greater chance of becoming rich, if ever they still still choose this path (believe me not everyone wants to become rich).

The Upside-Down Pyramid for Getting Rich
1. Commit or don't commit. No half-measures.
2. Cut loose from all negative influences.
3. Choose the right mountain.
4. Fear nothing.
5. Start now.
6. Go!

The kind that I like

On the lighter side of things...

Check out the only type of wrestling that appeals to me. Bliss Pleasure Enhancing Lubricant is featured in this month's Maxim!

Watch out for announcements on Bliss' upcoming wrestling matches!

Maybe it looked like this

I was describing how it felt from the inside. Maybe it looked like this from the outside.

The Intrapreneur's 10 Commandments

  1. Come to work each day willing to be fired.
  2. Circumvent any orders aimed at stopping your dream.
  3. Do any job needed to make your project work, regardless of job description.
  4. Find people to help you.
  5. Follow your intuition about the people you choose and only work with the best.
  6. Work underground as long as you can - publicity triggers the corporate immune mechanism.
  7. Never bet on a race unless you're running it.
  8. Remember, it's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
  9. Be true to your goals, but be realistic about the ways to achieve them.
  10. Honor your sponsors.

Intrapreneuring by Gifford Pinchot

"Intrapreneurialism" was first coined in 1985 by Gifford Pinchot according to HOW Magazine. It's only now that I heard about him and it's funny how my ideas about it point to the same direction.
