I’ve always had a fascination for flight. Today is another lucky day for me (my goal is to have a lot of these) and I was able to try flying an Ultralight this morning.
My team was with me and together we braved 50 mph speeds straight to our faces (no covers) and 800-1,000 feet over the beautiful fields of Pampanga with Mount Arayat at the back.
As I write this I still couldn’t get over the fact that an engine that looks like a giant industrial fan can produce enough push to bring us airborne. Controls consisted of cables and pulleys. The body consisted of tarp-like material (I’m reminded of our billboard hehe) and the very basic instruments.
My special request was to “stall” the machine in mid-air, bringing the ground speed to near zero, glide back down to increase speed and then engage the engine back on. AMAZING!
A beautiful day to fly!
Aeus "the brave," goes first
Ca went the highest @ 1,000 feet!
Helen went WAY beyond the planned flying time
Arden remembered mid-air that he's afraid of heights
I asked for a special flight where the plane intentionally "stalled"
Perhaps my next car
A BIG thank you to the funny and highly-skilled Senior Flight Instructor Captain Maximo “Boy” Guevarra and the team at Angeles City Flying Club for their warmth and great service! Highly recommended for people who want to experience flight and up their adventure meter.
